Health Guarantee
Harmolee Kennel agrees to guarantee your puppy for 1 year from the date of purchase from illness that is genetically proven to be fatal to the puppy’s health, as determined by a veterinarian, with paperwork provided to us, and all shots and vet trips up to date and documented. We, the breeder, will replace the defective puppy with a puppy of comparable quality, as determined by us, within a year of the safe return of the defective puppy, as we do not breed consistently throughout the year, or refund your deposit or if paid in full, your purchase fee, within 60 days by mail to your given address below. Full medical documentation must precede the return of the defective puppy for refund. The documentation must explicitly and singularly identify that the cause of the puppy's defect is genetically related and will be or has been, fatal to the puppy. The results of this documentation are then to be evaluated by a veterinarian of Harmolee’s choosing to confirm and authenticate the results provided by the buyer's veterinarian. The findings and opinions of Harmolee’s veterinarian are to be considered final and ultimate opinion, and shareable between both parties. All transportation expenses out of area involved in the return of the original puppy, as well as the replacement puppy are the responsibility of the buyer. All registration papers must be returned to the breeder as well at the time the puppy is returned.
We, Harmolee Kennel, suggest for your peace of mind, that the puppy be inspected by a veterinarian of the buyer's choice within 36 hours of the purchase of the puppy. If a genetic condition is found, that is determined by your vet to be detrimental to the puppy's long term health and is considered fatal to the puppy, the buyer may return the puppy, for one of like quality and sex, as determined by the seller, if any puppies are left in the litter, or a refund.
*The buyer must make the seller aware of this discovery within 12 hours of the time that the buyer receives the diagnosis and fax all information from your vet to 817-719-4010.
* If the buyer elects a replacement puppy and one is not available, the replacement puppy will be delivered to the buyer in the next breeding at Harmolee Kennel if not immediately available in same litter, on the safe return of the original puppy.
*All transportation expenses related to the original puppy as well as the replacement puppy are the responsibility of the buyer.
***The seller does not extend this policy related to common, insignificant or short-term conditions. (These include, but are not limited to, the presence of common parasites (round-worms, coccidia, giardia, hookworms, tapeworms, etc.), fleas, small scratches, scrapes or bites from other puppies or coughs that are deemed to be short-term and easily treated not considered a major detriment to the puppy's long term health.) We may treat your dog for these conditions, but if that is not followed up by you, we have no way to guarantee the parasites will not return as they can picked up almost anywhere.
**The opinion of Harmolee's vet, Alvarado Vet Clinic, is to be considered final, regarding non-genetic illnesses and cannot jeopardize the seller if the puppy is mis-diagnosed by the buyer's veterinarian regarding diagnosis or prognosis of the condition.
** All veterinarian expenses resulting from this inspection are the responsibility of the buyer.
We, the breeder, also do not agree to compensate the buyer for any veterinarian expenses or refund any monies with conditions related to Parvo, Distemper or Corona virus after 48 hours of sale, as these are such highly contagious diseases and they can be contracted immediately after leaving the breeder, Unless it can be proven beyond a doubt that the virus was obtained while the puppy was with us. (Meaning your puppy will begin showing signs within 1 day (24hrs) of coming home with you, i.e., lethargy, not eating, not drinking or vomiting uncontrollably). This would also mean one of our dogs or puppies had to have contracted it as well and we would know immediately if this was the case and we would have notified you if this had or does happen. Instructions MUST be followed as we have no control over what you do with your puppy the second you leave us.
The parvovirus most commonly affects very young puppies as the virus attacks the rapidly developing cells in a young dog’s body, but dogs of all ages can become infected. You should not take your puppy outside to run on the ground or introduce it to the world for play until it is at least 15 weeks old and all the booster vaccines have had time to react in the puppy’s body. Parvo is transmitted by touch, and can be on anyone, or be anywhere you walk at any time and brought home to your puppy on shoes, etc.
Parvo generally affects the intestines causing diarrhea that is often bloody, but Parvo can also affect the heart causing it to fail. It is the most common lethal virus known to affect dogs, but is preventable with the Parvo vaccine which will have already been given to your puppy at 6-7 weeks old in the form of the 7 in 1 shot which includes the following:
Distemper, Parvovirus, Adenovirus, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, and 2 strains of Leptospirosis
**Breeder will also not be responsible for Demodex canis, as it has not been medically proven to be hereditary or a genetic defect of any kind and may be brought on by simple stress among many other causes. The species Demodex canis is a simple mite that lives predominantly on all domestic dogs, and even on humans. Although the majority of infestations are commensal, and therefore sub-clinical, it can develop into a condition called Demodectic Mange when immune systems are low and stress level are high. Due to the habitat being deep in the dermis, transmission is only usually possible via prolonged direct contact, such as bitch-to-pup transmission during suckling. This would mean the bitch would have it as well, and we would already be aware, and the puppy would have been treated and documented for health records prior to selling. Ivomec injections will cure this with no problem at all, and we will be happy to treat your dog for this upon diagnosis.
Our warranty does not cover hips and hip dysplasia. There are a few reasons that we exclude hips from our coverage.
1) Because of the angularity and frame structure of Bulldogs, a person could make the case that every bulldog (in theory) is dysplastic to a degree. Much of what could be clinically classified as dysplasia via X-ray has no negative impact on the dog in terms of discomfort or physical limitations and is a result of breed characteristics that are specified in breed standards.
2) There are factors other than genetics that contribute to Dysplasia, including, but not limited to: the slope that a dog lives on, the floor surface, the activities the dog participates in, jumping off furniture, etc.
***Under no circumstances will the breeder be responsible for veterinary or medical bills incurred by the puppy at any time in its life after leaving Harmolee Kennel.
***Under no circumstances will the buyer be refunded any money due to simple buyer's remorse.
***Under no circumstances is this puppy to undergo euthanasia without Breeder's full knowledge and consent.
